The stillness in the air is overwhelming as I sit on my deck with my Bible, my notebook and coffee. If I allow myself to focus on the magnificent quietness I hear crickets, and birds and frogs and ducks. There is absolutely no breeze and the rising sun’s rays on my skin is extremely healing to my soul.

Your presence LORD is thick in the air – it reminds me that in Your presence I find peace.

But then….the world wakes up with the sound of cars on the near highway, the walkers (and talkers) on the path….

“They are invading my space LORD.” 

And yet, in my diminishing solitude…I have time to reflect on my life; rejoicing in my triumphs, agonizing in my regrets, and realizing that God has been my constant companion, my forever promise, my only hope and my eternal future.

So as I am forced to end my quiet moments and join the busyness of the rest of the humans – I smile at the day ahead knowing that…

Isaiah 26:3 assures me that God will keep me in perfect peace as I trust Him and keep my mind on Him.

My prayer is that we all recognize His presence, experience His peace throughout our day – no matter how noisy it might get.
